Our Peruvian dinner, complete with a Pisco Sour and cookies with homemade manjar (caramel), reminded me of my trips to Peru's neighbor Chile for my graduate work. I'll save the pictures of Chile's capital Santiago for a future Around the World dinner to Chile. The observatory is in the north of Chile, toward Peru, and I'll share those now. Look at all those clouds. Really I did have good observing weather for some of the nights, but those nights I was too busy working to take pictures of the landscape! :)
